Program Analyst - III MEF
This Program Analyst supports III Marine Expeditionary Force (III MEF) by managing Lessons Learned programs and analyzing operational data at Camp Courtney.
Responsibilities
- Manage comprehensive Lessons Learned (LL) programs across all III Marine Expeditionary Force (III MEF) units and subordinate commands.
- Collect and compile After Action Reports (AARs) from exercises, deployments, and training events.
- Support formal Lessons Learned collection efforts through interviews, observations, and analysis.
- Coordinate Lessons Learned activities with multiple units across III MEF to ensure comprehensive coverage.
- Process, analyze, and disseminate actionable lessons learned to improve operational effectiveness.
- Maintain Lessons Learned databases and tracking systems to ensure accessibility and proper categorization.
- Facilitate Lessons Learned working groups and coordination meetings with III MEF staff and subordinate units.
- Prepare detailed reports, briefings, and presentations on trends, observations, and recommendations.
- Support high OPTEMPO requirements with responsive and timely analytical support.
- Travel required.
- May require occasional extended hours to meet mission requirements.
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in History, Political Science, Leadership, or related field (degree may be substituted for experience).
- Valid United States Passport required.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Must have an active Top Secret clearance.
- At least twelve (12) years of experience serving in the US Military, with a strong preference for service in the Marine Corps. (Sixteen (16)+ years required if substituting experience for education).
- Experience in a combat arms, logistics, supply, or operations MOS or serving in a division staff level (or above) position.
- Prior experience conducting in-depth research and complete and definitive analysis, documenting lessons learned, developing and writing military quality reports, developing planning documents and proposals, and creating presentations.
- Experience developing lessons learned questionnaires and conducting interviews, or similar types of documentation and analysis.
- Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills and strong analytical skills.
- Strong Microsoft Office, 365, and SharePoint skills.
- Must be able to work on site in Okinawa, Japan.
Preferred Qualifications
- Graduate of Marine Corps Command & Staff College or equivalent Intermediate Level Education (ILE).
- Ability to adapt to changing work environments and operational tempos.
- Advanced understanding of military tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTP).
- Certified Knowledge Manager (CKM) or Microsoft 365 Certified: Fundamentals.
