Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of InOkinawa ("the Service"), operated at www.inokinawa.com and related subdomains. By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

InOkinawa provides a job board, resume-building tools, and community resources focused on Okinawa, Japan. Job listings are aggregated from public sources and employer submissions. We do not employ job seekers or guarantee any employment outcome.

2. Accounts

You may create an account using an email and password or by signing in with Google. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity under your account. You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. Provide accurate information and keep it up to date.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws.
• Scrape, crawl, or harvest data from the Service outside of documented public endpoints, or in excess of reasonable rate limits.
• Submit false, misleading, discriminatory, or fraudulent job postings, resumes, or profile content.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Service, other accounts, or underlying infrastructure.
• Interfere with the operation of the Service, including through malware, denial-of-service activity, or abuse of automated tooling.
• Use the Service to harass, defame, or harm others.

4. User Content

You retain ownership of content you submit (resume data, profile information, messages). By submitting content to the Service, you grant InOkinawa a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and process that content solely as needed to operate and improve the Service. You represent that you have the rights to submit any content you provide.

5. Third-Party Links and Employers

The Service links to external job postings, employer websites, and third-party tools. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party content, policies, or hiring decisions. Interactions with employers, including applications and offers, are solely between you and the employer.

6. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from the account settings page. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service, with or without notice, if you violate these Terms or if we reasonably believe your use poses a risk to the Service or its users. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (for example, ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law) will survive.

7. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components, or that job listings, salary information, or employer details are accurate or current.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, InOkinawa and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or employment opportunities, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service. Our aggregate liability for any claim arising from these Terms or the Service will not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars (USD $100) or the equivalent in Japanese yen.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold InOkinawa harmless from any claims, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via in-product notice or email at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising out of these Terms or the Service will be resolved in the courts located in Okinawa Prefecture, Japan.
