Responsibilities
- You will investigate and apply new approaches and advanced methods in evaluation, treatment, management, rehabilitation, and resolution of patient caseload assignments.
- You will train hospital staff on newborn and infant hearing test administration and equipment use and ensure that screenings are conducted prior to patient discharge.
- You will incorporate state-of-the-art evidence-based practice and scientific principles in the differential diagnosis, treatment, and management of novel and unprecedented auditory disorders.
- You will oversee the Infant Hearing Screening Program for newborns and infants receiving care.
- You will evaluate active duty and civil service HCP-enrolled patients exceeding established hearing sensitivity levels.
Requirements
In addition to the basic requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional Audiologist:
- Applying comprehensive knowledge of audiological theories, principles, and clinical practices to execute standard diagnostic and treatment procedures.
- Implementing established clinical protocols and diagnostic procedures for the prevention, mitigation, and rehabilitation of hearing disorders.
- Executing medical referral standards and routing procedures for individuals with hearing loss and communication impairments.
- Conducting comprehensive pediatric audiological assessments to identify, evaluate, and develop auditory habilitation plans.
- Evaluating and classifying tinnitus types to design and implement effective clinical treatment protocols, methodologies, and therapies.
