The Software Curator will maintain the quality and interoperability of computing nodes and workflows for the AI-powered neuroscience data analysis platform, Neuro-Workflow.

Role Overview

As a core project of Japan’s flagship neuroscience program, Brain/MINDS 2.0, the OIST Neural Computation Unit is developing an AI-powered neuroscience data analysis and modeling platform, Neuro-Workflow. This platform allows users to intuitively design and execute a workflow by connecting computing modules (nodes) through a graphic user interface and chat with AI agents. The Software Curator is responsible for maintaining the quality and interoperability of these nodes and workflows.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or higher degree in computer science, neuroscience, biology, or related fields.
  • Programming skills in Python.
  • Communication and technical writing skills in English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in computational neuroscience.
  • Familiarity with Git, GitHub, and AI-assisted coding.
  • Communication skills in Japanese.

Compensation and Employment Details

  • Full-time Appointment: Expected Annual Salary: 4.0 M - 6.5 M yen. Working hours: 9:00-17:30 (Discretionary).
  • Part-time Appointment: Expected hourly pay: up to 2,000 yen. Maximum 7 hours per day, 5 days per week.
  • The salary will be determined based on the candidate's experience, skills, and background.
  • This position may be classified as a Staff Scientist or Technician under OIST's personnel classification system.
