Recreation Aid
Performs and/or assists other recreation assistants or specialists in the operation and maintenance of Marina facilities.
Responsibilities
- Performs and/or assists other recreation assistants or specialists in the operation and maintenance of Marina facilities.
- Assists in the Scuba Locker with customer service, ringing up sales, receiving, recording, displaying, replenishing, and inventorying merchandise.
- Complies with cash accountability, inventory control, and resource protection requirements.
- Provides information on Marina activities and services, takes reservations and payment for instructional classes, charters, and special events, and notifies customers of changes.
- Informs participants of regulations and reports noncompliance to higher graded personnel or supervisor.
- Checks out equipment and provides basic instruction to customers on use of equipment in accordance with established safety standards and regulations.
- Checks condition of equipment upon return, completes required forms, and notifies appropriate personnel of damages.
- Sets up recreation areas for scheduled activities and assists with carrying out events.
- Cleans area around recreation facility and reports hazards.
- Assists with preparing, securing, and cleanup of facilities due to adverse weather conditions.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Qualifications and Eligibility
Eligibility Requirements:
- Open to those with SOFA Sponsorship only.
- The area of consideration is US Citizens and legal US residents in Okinawa, Japan.
- Legal US residents must possess a social security number and be citizens of a NATO country.
- Must be able to provide documentation proving residence status overseas.
Required Experience:
- Training or experience demonstrating ability to deal with the public or skill in carrying out oral and written instructions.
- Knowledge of basic computer operations.
- Must be physically mobile and able to lift and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Must be able to satisfactorily complete a Tier I Background Investigation as a condition of employment.
Preferred Experience:
- Knowledge of cash handling.
- Knowledge of boating or scuba policies.
