SIP Specialist
The specialist will support the SIP education project at OIST Center for Quantum Technologies, focusing on quantum computation, cryptography, communications, and sensing.
The Position
The specialist will work within the Strategic Innovation Promotion Program (SIP) education project in the OIST Center for Quantum Technologies. Education and research topics of interest include the theoretical aspects of Quantum Computation, Quantum Cryptography, Quantum Communications and Quantum Sensing. The successful candidate will work for the educational course program, the research & technology program, and the global-leadership program with the SIP team members.
This position is funded by the SIP grant.

Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting the education course development, coaching the research & technology course participants and planning the global-leadership course.
- General operations of the SIP project.
- Coordinate communication between faculty, departments in OIST and external stakeholders including funding bodies and governments.
Requirements
Qualifications
Required
- PhD in Quantum Information Science and/or Technology or in a related field
- PhD-level understanding of quantum mechanics
- Interest in working with industry
- Ability to speak and write in Japanese at a business level
- Proficiency in office software (e.g., Microsoft Office)
Preferred
- Ability to speak and write in English at a business level
- Numerical skills and educational experiences in both undergraduate and Master's level
- Experience of External Fund project for more than 3 years
- Teaching experience at university level in quantum technologies

Employment Term
This is a fixed-term position until March 2028, funded through the SIP project. Contract initially with 6-month probationary period (inclusive).
Working Hours
Scheduled Working hours: 9:00 – 17:30
Rest period: 12:00 – 13:00
Holidays
Saturday, Sunday, National holidays, and Year-end and New Year holidays (Dec. 29 – Jan. 3)
