Driver Education Program Coordinator
Performs all duties required for the Driver Education Program, including planning schedules, developing curriculum, and managing driver training principles.
Responsibilities
This role is responsible for all aspects of the Driver Education Program, including schedules and administrative transactions, and administering various examinations for applicants seeking licenses to operate privately owned vehicles.
Key duties include:
- Instructing applicants in procedures to accomplish tests, monitoring/grading test results, and issuing certificates.
- Checking applicants' vehicle operation, which includes proper preliminaries to starting the vehicle, inspection, handling, proper signaling, shifting, turning corners, parking, and backing.
- Evaluating the results of the driving and written tests and granting or denying the operator certificate based on test results.
- Signing operator certificates for those who pass the test.
- Attending safety classes as a safety monitor for the driver's program.
- Evaluating unsafe practices reported by personnel to determine if reports influence driver safety matters.
- Performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Program management experience and the ability to instruct driver training principles and practices in both classroom and road settings.
- Progressively responsible experience demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of rules and procedures.
- Knowledge of office automation software (MS Windows, MS Office, including PowerPoint, Word, Access, and Excel).
- Ability to read, write, and speak English.
- Must possess a valid SOFA driver's license and be able to obtain required licenses and certifications within 90 days of hire.
- Ability to satisfactorily complete a Tier 1 background check with child care inquiries (installation, state, and national criminal background checks).
- Must be able to provide documentation proving residence status overseas.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of the rules and procedures of USFJ regulation on driving in Japan is highly desirable.

- Employment Type: Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) position carrying out Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) activities for the Air Force and Space Force.
