This role involves assisting students with online coursework and designing/developing digital lessons and assessments for the Learning Management System.

Responsibilities

  • Assists students in completing online work as appropriate.
  • Designs and develops online lessons and assessments for publication in the Learning Management System.
  • Creates, maintains, and updates a communication log for assigned students.
  • Is available to staff, students, and sponsors via phone, instant message, or other synchronous communication tools.
  • Communicates regularly with students, sponsors, staff, and assigned administrators.
  • Collaborates with other educators in required content area digital learning communities (DLCs) to exchange ideas and utilize best practices for online learning.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree.
  • Must meet the requirements for a 0375 Teacher (Japanese): a minimum of 24 semester hours of Japanese coursework OR a minimum score of Intermediate High on OPI from ACTFL is required.
  • A minimum of 6 semester hours of theory and methodology of teaching a foreign language is required.
